Anyone requiring international validation of their language skills; people wishing to travel overseas for work or study or those seeking academic scholarships. The test is not recommended for beginners or elementary learners.Which test do I take?
There are two types of test to choose from; Academic and General Training. Candidates wishing to study overseas at higher education institutions are required to take the Academic test. General training tests provide IELTS scores commonly requested for overseas immigration or entrance into high schools abroad.How do I take the test?
There are one or two test dates each month and places should be booked in advance. The test costs US$160. Candidates are required to register at least 5 weeks in advance of the IELTS examination. Candidates must complete the IELTS Test Application Form, which can be obtained in hard copy from Vientiane College or downloaded CLICK HERE, and also supply 2 x clear / color photos (35mm x 45mm) with white background. Official photo ID is also required (passport, Lao ID card accepted).
How can I prepare for the test?
Test preparation courses are available every term at Vientiane College (cost 2,220,000 Kip for 40 hours). The course provides candidates with a knowledge of test strategies and the opportunity to practice with sample materials. Self-practice IELTS books are also available from Vientiane College or other reliable bookstores and on-line vendors.When are the IELTS Examinations in 2010?
